Living with dog behaviour problems can be stressful and confusing, especially when you're not sure how to stop the problems getting worse. How you handle the problems can make all the difference as to how serious they become and how long they persist. A behaviour consultation with a qualified Dog Behaviourist will help you understand your dog's behaviour and how you can change it. Follow-on training sessions will then guide you through the training and behaviour work needed to then improve your dog's behaviour problems.

Dog Behaviour Consultations
To address your dog's behaviour problems you'll need to begin with a behaviour consultation so your dog's problems can be properly assessed, and an individual training plan developed. Dog behaviour consultations last 3-4 hours and are carried out in home visits. Following the consultation you'll receive a behaviour report and training plan. From there it's likely you'll then benefit from a number of training sessions to coach you and your dog through the training plan.

Behaviour Training Packages
Behaviour training packages include the behaviour consultation plus a variable number of follow-on training sessions. These training sessions focus on coaching you and your dog through the training and behaviour work needed to reach your goals. The number of sessions you'll need will depend on the nature and number of the problems, and the foundation training your dog already has in place. Behaviour training sessions are primarily carried out in home visits, however sessions can be taken out into the 'real world' if that's beneficial for you and your dog.

What's Considered a Behaviour Problem?

Examples: Handling/grooming problems; indoor toileting; destructive behaviour; anxiety: shyness; aggressive behaviour e.g. guarding food, toys or locations; reactivity to dogs or people; specific fears e.g. fear of people, places, certain objects, situations or sounds; separation problems including destruction, barking or toileting in your absence; excessive mouthing; attention seeking; excessive barking; rough play.
